Ronald John Lais

Ronald John Lais, 60, a resident of Centuria/Long Lake, passed away at his home on Monday, September 28, 2015 with his loving family at his side. Ron was born on December 29, 1954 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Duane R. and Mildred (Nuemann) Lais.  Ronald married Natalie Bataglia on November 29, 1975.

Ronald leaves to celebrate his memory: his mother, Mildred Lais, his wife; Natalie Lais, Centuria, WI; son, Scott (Stacy) Lais, New Richmond, WI; daughter, Stephanie (John) Fleming, Norwood, MA; grandchildren: Abbygail Lais, Emma, Jake, Luke, Zoey and Belle Fleming, brothers, Pat (Sandy) Lais and Ray Lais, sisters, Kathy (Casey) Drabik, Bernadette (Mike) Zasada and Lynette (Bob) DuFresne, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

Ron was a family man.  His family was everything to him, especially his grandkids.  He loved to make them laugh and cautiously allowed them to drive his boat, but his bond with Abby is one that will never be duplicated.  Even through the pain of the cancer she could still make him smile.  Ron loved living on the lake and spending time on his boat, but the cooler had to be packed to his specifications.  Even though Ron was supposedly “retired” when he left Massachusetts, he continued to work and be dedicated to his clients.  He was one of the hardest working men we knew and continued to drive and work through chemo treatments and doctor appointments.

Everyone appreciated his love of the English language.  He would have wanted to be able to read this and grammatically correct it before it was completed.

He was a great man, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle.  He is and will be loved and missed.

Ron’s family will greet guests at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home on Thursday, October 1, 2015 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. concluding with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M.
