Anthony "Tony" Edward Jaros

Anthony “Tony” Edward Jaros, 87, of Superior, Wisconsin, passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.  Tony was born on June 20, 1934, the son of Sophia and Stanley Jaros.

Tony attended St. Adalbert's Elementary School, Superior East High School, and Superior Vocational.  His employment included Howard and Sell Oldsmobile as Parts Manager from 1951 to 1958.  Tony joined the United States Postal Service in 1958 and was a Letter Carrier until his retirement in 1989.  Tony was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) and a 3rd-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, having held various positions within the organizations over the years.  Tony was a devout Catholic having been a member of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church until its closing, and later a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Tony was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, berry picking, spending time at the cabin, or enjoying the wilderness on his rural property.  He enjoyed bowling as well as several other sports.

Tony leaves to celebrate his memory, his son, John Jaros and his wife Sharon, his daughter Theresa Hjort and her husband Sam, grandchildren, Alicia Jaros, Erika, and Soren Hjort, a great-grandson, Levi Dorman, his sister, Sophie Johnson, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Sophia and Stanley, his wife, Lorraine “Bunny” Jaros, sisters, Mary, Fran, and Stella, and his brothers, Alex, and Zenon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Superior on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 11:00 A.M.  Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  He will be laid to rest alongside his loving wife Bunny at the St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.  Please join the family for lunch and continued fellowship back at church after the cemetery service.

Pallbearers will be Soren Hjort, John C. Kimmes, David Dorman, John L. Kimmes, Mike Archambault, and Dan Forseth
