Bennett Oliver Bystrom

Bennett Oliver Bystrom, 75 of rural Luck, Fox Creek, Polk County, WI passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the American Heritage Nursing Home in Hammond, Wisconsin.  Bennett was born on September 27, 1942 in Amery, Wisconsin the son of Oliver and Irma Bystrom.

After Bennett completed his school education he had various jobs in the area.  He served his country in the United States Army from 1964 – 1966.  After his honorable discharge he worked in the trucking industry eventually owning and operating his own trucking company.  He also worked for the Polk County Highway Department until his retirement.  He enjoyed socializing, driving anything with wheels and spending time with his family and his friends.  He was a member of the Balsam Lake American Legion Post 278.

Bennett leaves to celebrate his memory: daughter, Shawn Winkler  (Wayne Folz), Alma, WI; daughter, Nancy (Chris) Randen, Spring Valley, WI; daughter, Stacey Rolland, Anoka, MN; grandchildren: Victoria Knauff, Jessica Martin, Jacob Martin and Sierra Randen, great grandchild, Liam Vega, stepmother, Janice Bystrom, Luck,WI; twin-sister, Betty Bystrom, Centuria, WI; sister, Sonja Bystrom (John Thomas), Bloomington, IN; brother, James (Lynn) Bystrom, Balsam Lake, WI; stepbrother, Kenny Johnson, Luck, WI; stepsister, Jessica Summerfield, Luck, WI; numerous, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Irma Bystrom and stepbrother, Dennis Johnson.

A Memorial Service/Celebration of Life for Bennett will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria.  Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. and continue until the time of the service.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Robert Glenna, Larry Cox, Curt Knutson, Larry Knutson, Doug Hanson and Dayton Frederickson.

He will be laid to rest at the Georgetown Lutheran Church Cemetery in the spring with full military honors.
