Bennie Rogers, “Geen gway way gaabow” 74, of Webster, Wisconsin, died on Monday, October 21, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, Minnesota. He was born on October 18, 1939 in Georgetown Township the son of John and Sadie Rogers.
Bennie enjoyed sharing his knowledge of the Native American traditions and the language. He enjoyed playing Keno at the casino and spending time with his family and his friends.
Bennie leaves to celebrate his memory: his wife, Tammy Rogers, son, Charles Rogers, daughters: Sharon and Darla Rogers, Nicole Hodge, Stacy Mejia; grandchildren: Joseph Rogers, Amanda Rogers, Jordan Matthew Rogers, Courtney Oustigoff, Jacqueline Duncan, Bryce Duncan; great grandchildren: Skyler Notinokey, Trenton Awonohopay, Tyrone Awonohopay Jr., Brianna Duncan, Karma Duncan, brother, Jerry Rogers, nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sadie Rogers, son, Terrance Rogers, brothers, Walter, David and Joseph Rogers and sister Delores Rogers.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2013 beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the Maple Plain Community Center, rural Cumberland, Wisconsin. The visitation will begin on Wednesday at 1:00 P.M. and continue until the time of service on Thursday at the Maple Plain Community Center.
Bennie will be laid to rest at the Johnstown Township Cemetery, Round Lake, Wisconsin following the service.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
