Carmen Leoso, 36, of the Round Lake Community, Luck, Wisconsin passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the Amery Hospital.
Carmen was born on December 27, 1983 in Ashland, Wisconsin the daughter of Siaki W. Leoso and Marlene R. Merrill. She attended school in Ashland as a child. At age 4 she was crowned the Bad River Princess and at age 16 she was crowned the St. Croix Princess. She graduated from Unity High School in 2002. She then attended Brown Institute where she earned a degree in culinary arts.
She was proud to be a mother of her children, Nyima and Mataio. She loved cooking, dancing and sharing her love for those she cared about. She was proud of her Samoan heritage.
Carmen leaves to celebrate her memory: father, Siaki Leoso, Odanah, WI; mother, Marlene Merrill, Round Lake, WI; children, Nyima and Mataio Rogers, Round Lake, WI; significant other, Jay Rogers, Round Lake, WI; siblings, Katrina Leoso, Round Lake, WI; Merrill Leoso, Round Lake, WI; Amanda Merrill, Round Lake, WI; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Leoso, cousins, Edward Leoso, Myna Stone, Steven Stone, Steven Benjamin and Rhonda Benjamin.
The visitation for Carmen will be held at the Round Lake Community Center beginning at 12 Noon on Sunday, January 19, 2020 and continue until services on Monday at 12 Noon.
She will be laid to rest at the Johnstown Township Cemetery on the Round Lake Community. Casketbearers will be John Merrill, Carlos Mosay, Marcel Merrill, Christopher Bugg, James Ellis and Eli Corbine. Honorary Caskebearers will be Brandon Merrill, Terrell Merrill, Ricky Mosay, Shane Gasper and John Rogers.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
