Carolyn N. (Martinsen) Nelson

Carolyn N. Nelson (Martinsen) passed away January 28, 2024 at her home in Balsam Lake, WI after a five year battle with cancer.

Carolyn was born June 13, 1941 at the family home in rural Luck, WI to Hans Louie and Nellie Martinsen. She grew up in Luck on the family farm.  She graduated from Unity High School in 1959.

After graduation she moved to the Twin Cities and began to work at Twin City Federal Bank.

In January of 1960, Carolyn met her future husband Jimmy Nelson and they married on September 10, 1960. To this union 5 children were born.

Carolyn is preceded in death her parents, her husband Jimmy Nelson, Grandson Jordan Kletschka, her brothers Robert & James, sisters, Donna Mae Hutton, Mary Ellen Fagnan and Norma Lundgren.

Carolyn is survived by her 5 Children Tom (Denise) of Lewis, Tammy (Dale) Jensen of Luck, Todd (Mary) of Balsam Lake, Tristan (Scott) Divine of Balsam Lake and Toni (Ray) DeSpiegelaere of Centuria, 11 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren, a sister Linda Martinsen of Milltown, a sister-in-law Marilyn Martinsen of Luck and a brother-in-law Herbert Fagnan of New Richmond, a special friend Larry Fagnan and her 2 best friends Chris and Marlys along with many nieces and nephews.

A private service is being planned at a later date for immediate family.

Carolyn will be laid to rest at the Milltown Cemetery next to her husband Jimmy and her Grandson Jordan Kletschka
