Daniel Joe Volgren
October 7, 1954 — October 31, 2013
Daniel J. Volgren, age 59 of Balsam Lake, passed away October 31, 2013 at home with his family by his side following a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born October 7, 1954 in Amery, Wisconsin the son of Nels and Donna (Darmody) Volgren.
Dan grew up on the family farm near Goose Lake. He was an avid fisherman and especially loved to fish for Bass and Muskie. He enjoyed the many tournaments he fished in. His favorite time of the year was fall, when he would cut wood, bow hunt, rifle hunt, and spend time at his cabin in Dairyland, Wisconsin. In his younger years he raced Yamaha snowmobiles. Dan worked and retired from Andersen Windows after 34 years of service.
Dan leaves to celebrate his memory: wife, Renee A. (Larson) Volgren, one daughter, Kari (Jeremiah Lunsmann) Peer of Centuria, Wisconsin, one son, Benjamin Volgren of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, and proud Grandfather of Mason and Amelia. Loving brother of Richard (Thelma) Volgren of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, Julie (Stan) Steuter of Elk River, Minnesota and John (Kristin Dahl) Volgren of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
