Dennis Earl Walton, 70, of Centuria, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at the V.A. Health Care Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dennis was born on October 21, 1947 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Warren and Marie (Weiss) Walton. He graduated from Johnson High School in South St. Paul, Minnesota. Dennis served his country in the United States Marines from 1966- 1969 and served in Vietnam from August 1968 – March 1969.
After being honorably discharged from the Marines he worked as a Master Auto Mechanic for most of his working career. He also served as a Reserve Police Officer for the city of Maplewood, MN and a part-time Deputy Sheriff in Polk County, Wisconsin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his horse “Spirit” and most affectionately his grandchildren.
Dennis leaves to celebrate his memory: his wife, Kathy Walton, Centuria, WI; children: Paul (Nicole) Wyganowski, Princeton, MN; Derrick (Joanne) Walton, Midland, NC; Douglas (Lisa) Walton, Yuma, AZ; Dennette (Brad) Stellrecht, Chetek, WI; Diana (Todd) Steever, Cape Coral, FL, Amy (Mark) Hoffman, Centuria and Janice Williamson (Scott Schmid ) Centuria, 27 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, siblings, Roberta Bertrand, George (Lorie) Walton, Jerry (Sue) Walton and Marie (Jim) Bertrand, many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Marie Walton, brother, Richard Walton and sisters, Veronica Hart and Nancy Weeks.
Dennis’ family will greet visitors at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from 3:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Dennis will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in May.
