Donald Franklin John Baum, 85, of Dresser, Wisconsin passed away at his home on Thursday, September 23 rd , 2021, with his family at his side.
Don was born June 3 rd , 1936, in Ringtown, Pennsylvania to the late John and Hannah (Lindner) Baum, Nuremberg, Pennsylvania.
Don graduated from North Union Township High School as Salutatorian. Don entered the Air Force fall of 1954 to 1958, stationed in Alaska. While serving in Alaska, Don became a believer in Christ and attended Lutheran Bible School, which followed four years at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minnesota. On August 5 th , 1962, he married Eloise Ringoen of Blaisdell, North Dakota. Following college graduation, Don entered the Northwestern Seminary of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Don served three congregations, Immanuel of Mora, MN, Lafayette Lutheran of Lafayette, MN, and New Hope of Newfolden, MN.
Don loved to read the Bible and many Christian authors. After moving to Dresser, WI in 2006, he enjoyed his three grandchildren and their many sports events and activities. Don also enjoyed his vegetable gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hannah Baum, and his younger brother Paul.
Don leaves to celebrate his memory, his wife, Eloise Baum, son, Steve and his wife Connie, daughter, Sara and her husband James Swanson, grandchildren, Benjamin, Joseph, and Anna Swanson, and sister Jean Adams, as well as nieces, nephews, and many other loving family and friends.
Please join the family on Sunday, November 28, 2021, for a small Celebration of Don’s life at the Alliance Church of the Valley in St. Croix Falls, WI after the regular church service approximately 11:30 – 12:00 P.M. Coffee and treats will be served.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria, Wisconsin has been entrusted with arrangements.
