Duane S. Roufs

Duane S. Roufs, 85, of Luck, Wisconsin passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Society of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.  Duane was born on September 22, 1932 in Carver County, Minnesota the son of Wilbert L. and Florence E. (Zehnder) Roufs.

Duane was raised on a farm in Minnesota and then moved with his family to Wisconsin. Duane served his country in the United States Army from June 1953 – April 1955.  After his honorable discharge he worked in Silver Bay, MN and then Minneapolis, MN eventually he moved to the family farm near Milltown, WI where he took over after his parents passed away.  He raised beef cattle and milked cows until he retired and moved to Luck, WI a year ago.

Duane was a good son, brother and uncle and will be dearly missed.

Duane leaves to celebrate his memory: sister, Donna Johnson, Mound, Minnesota; sister, Betty (David) Allen, Blaine, Minnesota; nieces, nephews, and cousins and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Florence, brother, Robert Roufs, sister, Leona Roufs and an infant sister, Darlene Roufs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Gene Murphy officiating.   Music will be provided by Audrey Ruck and Pam Garvey. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass.

Duane will then be laid to rest at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Centuria following the service will full military honors.  Duane’s family will be hosting a lunch back at the church following the cemetery service and invite their guests to join them.

Pallbearers will be Dan Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Zach Allen, Brody Allen, Jacob McKinven and Darrell Johnson.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
