Eleanor Anelle (Nelson) Mommsen

Eleanor Anelle Mommsen, 89, of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, passed away from natural causes, on January 12, 2023. Eleanor was born on March 21, 1933, in Fredrick Wisconsin, the daughter of Engnar and Evelyn Nelson.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, Gordon Mommsen, her two children Scott and Lori, their spouses Monica and Brian, and five granddaughters Sam, Kaitsy, Rainey, Ane, and Addison. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Eleanor attended Woodrow grade school and graduated from Milltown High School.  Her employment journey began at Honeywell and continued on to work in the local school district while raising her two children. Eleanor was married to her husband, Gordy, for 68 years. Eleanor enjoyed travel with Gordy, trips to their cabin on Half Moon Lake, spending time with her granddaughters, and family gatherings.

The visitation and funeral service will be held at Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria, Wisconsin, on Friday, January 27, 2023.

The visitation will be from 12:30-1:30 and the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Following the funeral, a light luncheon will be held at Trollhaugen Ski Resort from 3:00-6:00 p.m., for family and close friends.

Eleanor will be laid to rest at North Valley Cemetery in Eureka Township in the spring of 2023.
