Elizabeth "Joan" (Bigelow) Cox

August 15, 1936 — September 7, 2017

Joan Cox, 81 of Amery and formerly of Fox Creek, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Amery Regional Medical Center.  Joan was born on August 15, 1936 in Tomah, Wisconsin to Howard and Florence Bigelow.

Joan married Lyle Cox December 22, 1952 in Pine City, Minnesota.  She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising their 4 children, canning, cooking, gardening, live music and was known as the “Pepper Lady” & for her sense of humor.

Joan leaves to celebrate her memory: 4 children, Penny (Mike) Effertz, Shelley Pederson, Barb (Jim) Stolis, Darrell (Jeannie) Cox, 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one sister Caryl Sass.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Florence, her husband Lyle Cox, siblings; Birdine, Patrick and Duane.

Memorial services will be held at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria on Friday September 15 at 11:00 A.M.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids, MN.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
