Frank "Tom" Thomas Katzele

December 27, 1959 — February 18, 2019

Frank Thomas (Tom) Katzele, 59, passed away February 18, 2019 in his home in Centuria, Wisconsin.  Tom was born December 27, 1959 to Frank and Bernadine Katzele in Duluth, Minnesota. He graduated from Duluth East High School in 1978. He then attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth graduating with a degree in electronics. Following asst. manager positions with Taco John's in Duluth and Little Caesar's in Roseville, MN he began work with Weigh-Rite Scale Co. in Somerset, Wisconsin in the late 1980's where he remained until his early retirement due to health-related issues in the spring of 2018.  Tom enjoyed repairing stereo equipment to sell on Ebay, he also enjoyed radios and was an avid shortwave and AM "DXer" for decades. He obtained his ham radio license in 2014 earning the callsign, KC9YYB. He enjoyed playing WWII computer games, especially combat flight simulator games. He was a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan. Tom enjoyed getting together with family and friends especially his two closest buddies, his cousin Dave Beron and oldest friend Brad Bombardier with whom he enjoyed beer, movies, football games, cook-outs on his deck, and many, many laughs.  He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kristine (Katzele) Beloy.  Tom is survived and sadly missed by niece Eleni Beloy, aunts Marie Beron and Brooke (Beron) Pekkala (Leonard) and many close cousins and friends.

A "Celebration of Life" will be held Saturday, June 15th at 2: 00 P,M at the Incline Station, 601 W. Superior St., Duluth, MN.
