Gary James Hanson

Gary James Hanson “Viking”, 75, of Milltown, WI passed away on Sunday, February 13th, 2022, at Amery Hospital.

Gary was born on November 18, 1946, to Herman and Jennie Hanson of Dresser, WI.

Gary was an avid wrestler in high school. He graduated from Osceola High School in 1964.

On September 11, 1965, he married Marilynn Nehring, to this union two children were born, Teri and Matt.

On February 14th, 1981, he married Gloria Martinson. To this union, two children were born, Michael and Jennifer.

Gary was an avid sportsman. He truly loved the outdoors, from 4-wheeling, fishing, hunting, and racing snowmobiles in his prime. Gary retired from Andersen Windows after 35 years of service in 2001.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Jennie, brother Donald, and sisters, Joan and Marilyn.

Gary is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years, Gloria, children, Teri Hanson, Matt Hanson, Michael Hanson, Jennifer (Rob) Hanson, grandchildren, Marissa (Chris) Peka, Colton Goepfert, Carter Hanson, Camryn Hanson, and great-grandchild, Gracie Peka, as well as many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM with a short memorial service at 7 PM on Thursday, February 17th, 2022, at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria, WI.
