Gerald Thomas Hilleshiem

Gerald Thomas Hilleshiem, 75, of New Richmond, Wisconsin ~ Star Prairie Township, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Deerfield Gables Nursing Home in New Richmond.
Gerald was born on June 2, 1937 in Richland Center, Wisconsin the son of Thomas H. and Madeline (Berry) Hilleshiem. Jerry graduated from La Crosse Central High School in 1956. He married Irene Marie Ebner on October 4, 1958.
Truck driving was a true love of Jerry’s. He continued to keep busy as a seasonal worker at Lakeside Foods the past 7 years.
Jerry lived for deer hunting. He never missed a season until this past year due to recent health issues. He was truly missed by his hunting buddies; Steve, Luke and Logan. In the off season, he loved watching and feeding the many varieties of birds that frequented their front yard.
Jerry was very proud of his wife, children and grandchildren. He especially liked taking in as many of the grandkid’s sporting events as he could.
Jerry’s many stories and the memories he leaves behind will live in his family’s hearts forever…
Gerald leaves to celebrate his memory: wife Irene, New Richmond; son, Steven (Kim) Hilleshiem, Balsam Lake, WI; daughter, Lynn (Wade) Setter, Hugo, MN; grandchildren, Courtney, Luke and Logan Hilleshiem and Heidi Palenik, sisters, Mary Christie and Sharon Maahs, his furry little friend ~ Quentin, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Eileen Hellerud.
Services will be held at the Alliance Church of the Valley in St. Croix Falls on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Jeff Naegelen will officiate. Gerald’s family will be greeting visitors at the church from 12:00 Noon until the time of service. Following the service the family would like to invite their guests to join them for fellowship and lunch in the church fellowship hall. Honorary Pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Courtney Hilleshiem, Heidi Palenik, Luke Hilleshiem and Logan Hilleshiem.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
