James William Kvale, 86,of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the Estates at Greeley in Stillwater, Minnesota. Jim was born on August 27, 1934 in Wahkon, Minnesota the son of Christopher and Kaja Kvale.
Jim served his country in the United States Air Force from January of 1957 – June of 1960. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force; Jim worked at the Schmidt Brewery in St. Paul for 36 years where he held different positions and retired in management distribution. Jim enjoyed fishing, golfing, dancing, reading, spending time with his family and traveling with the Love of his Life Dora.
Jim leaves to celebrate his memory: Love of his Life, Dora Gierth of Balsam Lake and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, his daughter, Khristine Freeland of Mesa, AZ and her two children and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Kaja, his sister, Goody and his brothers, Kenny, Al and Freddy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at 12 Noon at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria. Pastor Angie Kutney will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Please use facial coverings. Jim will be laid to rest at the Fort Snelling National Veteran’s Cemetery at a later date with full military honors.
