James Donald Martinsen, age 77, passed away at his home in Luck May 31, 2013.
James was born July 24, 1935 in Milltown, WI to Hans Louie and Nellie Martinsen. He attended the Milltown High School. He was married to Marilyn Delores Jensen on August 31 st , 1957.
James and Marilyn owned and operated Martinsen’s IGA store for 21 years. Upon selling the store in 1985 James worked in construction and excavating.
James served 29 years on the Luck Fire Department, several years as the Assistant Chief. He also served on the Commercial Club, the Maple View Board, the Luck Country Club, and the Luck Village Board. He truly enjoyed the many visits from his special friends and family, playing Fast Track, going for Ranger rides out to the farm and picnicking at Cow Pie Park. His three grandsons were the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father Hans Louie, his mother Nellie and his brother John Robert. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marilyn, his son Michael (Ingrid) Martinsen of Somerset, his daughter Melanie (Scott) Hatten of Luck, his grandchildren, Cody, Casey, and Cole.
A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, June 8 at his favorite place “Cow Pie Park”.
