Kenneth Charles Erickson

April 3, 1943 — December 13, 2020

Kenneth “Ken” Charles Erickson, 77, of Eureka Township-St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin passed away at his home with his family at his side on Sunday morning, December 13, 2020.  Ken was the son of Walter and Eva (Fors) born on April 3, 1943 in Grantsburg, Wisconsin.

He lived with his parents in Sterling Township and attended Orr Grade School and Grantsburg High School. During that time, he worked for several farmers in the area and drove truck for Rex Erickson. After high school he worked at several different jobs in Minneapolis.

Ken and Sharon (Paulsen) were married on May 12, 1962 at First Lutheran Church in Cushing. They lived in Minneapolis until October 1966 when they moved to their present home north of St. Croix Falls. Their family grew in August 1965 when their daughter Karyn was born. After moving back to Wisconsin, he drove truck for Floyd Houliston and Bibeau Brothers. He bought his own truck and worked with that until he purchased Eureka Transmission from his brother.

In the fall of 1986, the town chairman asked if he could help plow snow that winter. In the spring of 1987, he was offered a full-time job with the township and retired from that in October 2009.

Over the years he played horseshoes, bowled, fished in the Al Peer Invitational and loved watching Nascar and the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed taking his 1964 Pontiac Lemans convertible to car shows and has many trophies. He was also an avid deer hunter.

Ken and Sharon vacationed in various areas, but their favorite was the time they spent in Branson, Missouri. In 2016, they took their most memorable trip on a cruise to Alaska. This completed Ken’s bucket list.

In January 2016, Ken was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. On November 20, 2020 Ken fell and suffered a severe head injury which resulted in his death.
