Kenneth C. Long, 62, of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin passed away on February 19, 2013 at the Willow Ridge Health Care Center in Amery, Wisconsin with his beloved family at his side. Kenneth was born on June 7, 1950 in St. Cloud, Minnesota the son of Robert and Valeria Long

Ken and Linda Long were married on October 23, 1976.  They resided in St. Francis, MN until 1992 and have lived in Balsam Lake, WI since then. Ken spent his career in the manufacturing industry and prior to his retirement in 2010, he worked for Kurt Manufacturing in Minneapolis, MN. Ken and Linda also owned the Old General Store on the Main Street of Balsam Lake during the 1990’s. Ken enjoyed hunting, fishing, working outside with his tractor and 4-wheeler, and playing with his grandchildren. In recent years Ken re-visited a hobby he enjoyed in his youth by spent much of his time restoring his muscle car to its former glory and traveling to car shows around the country.

Kenneth leaves to celebrate his memory: his mother, Valeria Long, Coon Rapids, MN; children, Todd (April) Owen, Rice Lake, WI; Troy (Heidi) Long, Houston, TX; Trina (Troy) Strand, Balsam Lake, WI; grandchildren, Peyton Owen, Hadley Owen, Carson Strand, and Chance Strand; sisters, Carol (Richard) Nelson, Maple Grove, MN; Cathy (Bob) Vanderlinden, Redwood Falls, MN; Pam (Mike) Steffens, Aitken, MN; Julie (Kevin) Hank, Oak Grove, MN; Sheila (Scott) Thompson, Oak Grove, MN, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving family and friends.  Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, Robert Long; and his wife, Linda on October 30, 2009.

The funeral service for Kenneth will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Georgetown Lutheran Church.  Pastor Neil Weltzin will officiate.   Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service.

Kenneth will be laid to rest alongside his wife Linda at the Georgetown Lutheran Church Cemetery following the funeral.  Pallbearers will be Joe Steffens, Ryan Hank, Rick Hank, Michael Hansen, Matthew Hansen and Jeffrey Hermansen.   The family would like to invite their guests to join them for fellowship and lunch following the cemetery service.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
