LaVerne G. Anderson, 81, of Centuria, passed away on Monday, October 09, 2017 at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center. LaVerne was born on March 30, 1936 in Nye, Wisconsin the son of George and Amanda (Heichel) Anderson.
LaVerne was a Veteran of the United States Army having served his country from 1954 – 1956. He was a retired Andersen Window employee of 34 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, playing cards, cribbage, dancing and attending auctions and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. He loved snowmobiling and was a past charter member and president of the Dresser and Osceola snowmobile clubs.
He leaves to celebrate his memory: Special Friend, Connie Cox, Centuria, WI; son, David Anderson, Balsam Lake, WI; daughter, Darcia Anderson, Balsam Lake, WI; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Cody, Mitchell, Mariah and McKenzie, brothers, Eldred Anderson, Dresser, WI; Ron Anderson, Balsam Lake, WI and Arland Anderson, Dresser, WI, special friend, Jim Dalton and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Amanda, wife, Joan (Hanson) Anderson of 24 years and his brother Eugene “Bud” Anderson.
The funeral service for LaVerne will be held on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home, followed by Military Honors rendered by the State of Wisconsin Military Honors Program and the Milltown VFW Post 6856. Pastor Maggie Isaacson will officiate the service. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marty Anderson, Marc Anderson, Ron Walker Anderson, George Anderson, Jamie Cox, Matt Hanson and Kyle Anderson.
Following the service please join the family for lunch and continued fellowship at McKenzie Lanes in Centuria.
Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
He will be laid to rest at Bethesda Cemetery in Sand Lake Cemetery, rural Dresser, Wisconsin.
