Lazette K (Peper) Mcleod

Lazette Kathryn McLeod (Nee: Peper), 96 , of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, born May 14, 1922 in Centuria, Wisconsin died July 20, 2018. Lazette was the youngest of four children born to William C. and Matie Mohs Peper.

Lazette graduated from Centuria High School in 1940. She later attended and graduated from the Minneapolis School of Business. On December 15, 1945 she married Donald McLeod. Their son George was born in 1947. Their marriage lasted for 63 years until Donald's death in 2009.

Lazette enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, reading, and travelling. She worked for many years at Polk - Burnett Electric Co-op in Centuria; and  after retiring, became the first woman elected to the board of directors.

In 2012 Lazette moved to Eau Claire to be closer to her son and daughter-in-law. She lived at Heather Wood Assisted Living where she enjoyed the friendship of many residents and staff. She was a member of St John's Lutheran Church of Centuria for her entire life, attending Trinity Lutheran Church during the years she lived in Eau Claire.

Lazette leaves to celebrate her memory; her son, George (Lynne) McLeod of Fall Creek; granddaughters Jennifer (Chad) Amundson of White Bear Lake and Ashley (Mike) Danks of Hibbing; great grandchildren, Melissa and Jason Amundson and Allison Danks; Sisters-in-law, Lauryl Flatten,  Joan Wulf, and Jane Larsen; and many loving friends and relatives.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am  on July 27 at St John's Lutheran Church, in Centuria. Pastor Timothy Blauert will officiate and music will be provided by Mike and Cheryl Peper. Visitation is scheduled for 10 am at St John's Lutheran Church prior to the service. A luncheon will be served at the church following the funeral service.

Lazette will be laid to rest at Balsam Lake Cemetery next to her husband in a private ceremony.
