Leon Henry Thaemert

Leon Henry Thaemert, 80, of Centuria passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater, Minnesota.  Leon was born on July 30, 1938 in Waconia, MN the son of Henry William and Josephine Theresa (Roufs) Thaemert.

Leon was a devoted and loving family man.  He married JoAnn Marie Chesborough on June 24, 1961.  He enjoyed working with his hands whether it was building construction, wood working or tinkering with machinery.  He enjoyed being part of the local farming community.  He served as a mentor to his children and later his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Josephine Thaemert, siblings, Ellen Pagel, Maxine Thunberg, Clarice Nelson and Larry Thaemert.  He leaves to celebrate his memory: wife, JoAnn Thaemert, children: LeRoy (Doris) Thaemert, Dean (Lori) Thaemert, Charlene (Mike) Ostgard, John Thaemert, Joy (Bryan) McVey and Dawn (Scott) Swanepoel, 11 grandchildren, siblings: Margie Nelson, Vivian O’Donell, Julieann Bibeau, Marvin (Margie) Thaemert, William Thaemert, Eugene (Kathleen) Thaemert, Carol (Gerald) Niles and other family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Leon Thaemert family farm on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 5 PM.  There will be a visitation at the farm beginning at 4 P.M.   1653 200th Street, Centuria, WI  54824.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
