Leroy Larry Nelson

LeRoy Larry Nelson, 69, of Amery, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota with his loving family at his side.  LeRoy was born on May 15, 1944 in Superior, Wisconsin the son of William C. and Norma (Stone) Nelson.  He married Betty Hart on April 25, 1964 and to this union three children were born.  LeRoy was a lifelong mechanic, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, stock car racing and was an avid wrestling fan.  He loved spending time with his family and his friends.

LeRoy leaves to celebrate his memory: daughters, LeAnn (Chris) Bloom, Amery, WI; Heather (Steve) Hart, Amery, WI; son, Rick Nelson, Amery, WI; grandchildren: Ryki, Daemieon, Brandon, Destynee, great grandson, Bryan Bloom, brothers, Chuck Nelson, Chisago City, MN; Steven (Lori) Nelson, Billings, MT; sister, Karen Gibson, Billings, MT, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Nelson, parents, William and Norma Nelson, brother, John Nelson and a baby sibling in infancy.

The funeral service for LeRoy will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 2:30 P.M. at Balsam Lutheran Church, Amery, Wisconsin.  LeRoy’s family will greet visitors at the church prior to the service beginning at 12 Noon.  Pastor Matt Saarem will officiate the service.  The family would like to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship following the service at the church.

LeRoy will be laid to rest at the Balsam Lake Cemetery in the spring.

Pallbearers will be Jason Christianson, Todd Christianson, Bob Bogwardt, Jon Fields, Chris Bloom and Joel Sweeny.  Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Hart, Daemieon Hart, Steve Mueller, Andy Helgeson, Steve Nelson, Charles Nelson, John Hahn and Steve Hart.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
