Lorraine C (Claude) Mckenzie

Lorraine C. McKenzie passed away peacefully in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday, April 28 at the age of 94.  A longtime resident of Centuria and Balsam Lake, Lorraine always enjoyed being near water, whether on Loveless Lake or the Texas Gulf Coast. She was an avid collector of sea shells, a devoted reader, enjoyed classical music and was a talented artist and calligrapher. She was the family historian and we are forever thankful to her for faithfully maintaining family photos, correspondence and other memorabilia. Lorraine will be lovingly remembered for her wit, her thoughtfulness for others and the strength and resiliency she consistently displayed through life’s ups and downs.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her husbands, Murdock Campbell (1945) and Clifford McKenzie (1995); her companion, Ray Biller (2009); her daughter, Tomma Jean Campbell (2005); and her grandson, Todd Philip Michael Grandstrand (1979). She is survived by her brothers, Jim (Romona) Claude and Joe Claude; her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Elizabeth McKenzie; her granddaughters, Toni LaRose, Teja Grandstrand, Kate (Eric) Johnson and Elizabeth Hartwell; and her great grandchildren, McKenzie Pederson, Ian Crane, Nate Crane and Camille Johnson.

The Funeral Service for Lorraine will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Trinity United Methodist Church in rural Centuria.  Visitation will be held on Monday, May 6th, at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria from 4 – 6:30 P.M. and then the next day at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M.

Lorraine will be laid to rest at the Balsam Lake Cemetery.  Following the cemetery service please join the family for lunch and fellowship back at the church.
