Marjorie H. (Oltmanns) Mondor

July 28, 1922 — December 23, 2013

Marjorie H. (Oltmanns) Mondor, 91, of St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin went to her Lord from Good Samaritan Home in St. Croix Falls Wisconsin on December 23, 2013.

Marjorie, (or more lovingly know by many as Grandma) was born July 28, 1922 in Holyoak, Minnesota the daughter of Fritz and Cora Oltmanns. She was the second of four children born to Fritz and Cora.  Her eldest sister, Dorothy, passed away last year. Her youngest sister Mary Alice (deceased also) and her younger brother, Fritz Oltmanns who now resides in New Richmond Wisconsin.

Marjorie and her siblings grew up in the depression years in Houlton, Wisconsin and attended school in Stillwater, Minnesota. There she met and married her childhood sweetheart, Allie Maitrejean.  She had two children, Cora, (deceased) and Gene.

Grandma Marg loved to tell us stories about her childhood and about growing up through the depression. She also loved to tell us about riding horses with her Aunt Lena, and swimming in the local pond on a hot summer day.

She was a first rate cook and baker. She loved to sew and garden. She was also an avid lover of books. This love of books was passed on to her Grandchildren. We remember her reading stories to us like Little Women and the Wonder book of Bible Stories before she would tuck us in at night.

Grandma was a hard worker and had worked many jobs over her years to fill in the rough spots, but her most satisfying job was taking care of her children and grandchildren.  She loved hanging clothes on the line and pulling bread out of the oven.  She would talk about feeding the chickens and the calves on the farm.  These were the things that made her the happiest.

Grandma, (Marge) leaves behind, a Brother,  a Son,  8 Grandchildren,  15 Great Grandchildren, and 6 Great, Great Grandchildren. She also leaves behind many loving Nephews and Nieces.

She will be missed very much and will be forever in our hearts.

Marjorie’s family would like to thank all the Staff at the Good Samaritans Nursing Home in St. Croix Falls for all the excellent care and personal friendship that was given to her during her stay for the last 3 years.  God Bless all of you for all the works that you do.

There will be a Celebration of her life, with family and friends this spring.  (To be announced at a later date).

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
