Maxine Mary (Gardner) Jensen

February 26, 1939 — April 10, 2013

Maxine Mary Jensen, 74, of Balsam Lake, WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, with her loving family at her side.  Maxine was born on February 26, 1939 in Stillwater, MN the daughter of Charles Edwin and Hazel Jennie (Brown) Gardner.

Maxine attended school in Stillwater, MN; Green Bay, WI and Centuria, WI and graduated from Centuria High School in 1957.  She married Douglas Jensen on July 20, 1957.  After their marriage Doug spent four years in the United States Air Force and they lived in Rapid City, SD and also Santa Maria, CA.

They moved to Luck, WI in 1960 and resided there until 1966.  They moved to Baldwin, WI where they lived for 29 years.  After Maxine and Doug retired they moved to their home on Blake Lake where they currently live.

Maxine worked for many years for the State of Wisconsin Tourist Information Division as a Tourist Information Specialist and managed the Tourist Information Center in Hudson, Wisconsin.  She was a member of Georgetown Lutheran Church, a member of the church Ladies Aide and she enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Maxine leaves to celebrate her memory: husband, Douglas Jensen, Balsam Lake, WI; daughter, Terri (Keith) Tompkins, Chippewa Falls, WI; son, Brian C. (Kim) Jensen, Chippewa Falls, WI; grandchildren: McKenzie Jensen, Morgan Jensen, Braeden Jensen, Heather Dacunha, Tara Marie (Ryan) Burr, Tony (Alicia) Tompkins, Lauren Tompkins, great grandchildren: Reagan Burr, Lincoln Burr, Grant Burr, Thatcher Burr, Anthony Tompkins Jr. and Gage Steven Dacunha, brother, Charles (Violet) Gardner, Pierce, AZ, and other loving family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel and Charles Gardner and her son Steve Jensen in 2001.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Georgetown Lutheran Church.  Pastor Neal Weltzin will officiate. Maxine’s family would like to invite their family and friends to join them for lunch and fellowship in the church fellowship hall following the service.

Maxine’s family will greet family and friends at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. and again on Saturday at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Maxine will be laid to rest at the Baldwin Cemetery at a future date.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan Burr, Lincoln Burr, Grant Burr, Braeden Jensen, Anthony Tompkins Jr. and Gage Steven Dacunha.
