Patricia Ann (Peterson) Herbst

Patricia Ann (Peterson) Herbst, passed away peacefully at Divine Nursing Home in St. Croix Falls, on July 27, 2022, at the age of 86. Patricia was born in Buffalo, MN on March 17, 1936, to Ervin and Margaret Peterson.

She attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and graduated valedictorian from Columbia Heights High School in 1954, where Patricia met and married the love of her life; George Oscar Herbst on June 11, 1955. Together, they raised their family in Columbia Heights. She was employed at Land O’ Lakes, National School Studies, State of MN, Honeywell, and was a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, gardening, and playing cards. Together, they retired on Big Sandy Lake, in McGregor at their lake home; enjoying winters in West Palm Beach, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Margaret Peterson, and brothers, Bradley, and Stanley.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma. Celebrating her memory are her loving husband of 67 years, George Oscar Herbst; and her children, Michael Herbst, Michelle (David) Benson, Violet (Craig) Larson, Theresa (Andrew) Tihanyi, and Vanessa Herbst (George Larson). Also, her grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Stephanie, Richard, Melissa, Derek, Tara, and Dalton; great-grandchildren William, Ethan, Scarlett, and Katalaya-Mae. She is also celebrated and remembered by her siblings, Betty (Jerry) Kraus and Gerald (Sharon) Peterson, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 13th at Round Lake Presbyterian Church in McGregor, MN. Visitation: 11 am, Service: Noon, with a luncheon immediately following the service. If you have a picture or few to share of Pat please bring them so we can make copies. A private ceremony for Patricia’s final resting place and interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
