Richard John Heutmaker, 90, of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Amery Regional Medical Center.  Richard was born on September 12, 1925 in St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Lambert and Mary (Mass) Heutmaker.

Richard was raised in St. Paul and resided in St. Paul and Woodbury, MN.  He married Beverly Chapdelaine in 1951 and they continued to live in the twin cities area until his retirement from Young Motors in 1985.  After his retirement they moved to their lake home in Amery, WI.  In 1997, they purchased a home in Balsam Lake.  After his wife Beverly died in 1998, Richard married Katherine Rundhaug in 2004 and resided at the home in Balsam Lake.

Richard was a United States Army Veteran serving in the National Guards from 1947 – 1949 and then active duty from August 1950 and being honorably discharged in October 1952 and then serving the United States Army Reserve from 1952-1976.

Richard leaves to celebrate his memory: wife, Katherine Heutmaker, children, Sue (Craig) Iles, Michael (Bonnie) Braun, Cheryl (Doug) Rymerson, Richard Heutmaker Jr., Kenneth (Beverly) Heutmaker, grandchildren: Richard Rymerson, Nancie Kaye, Michelle Rymerson, Robert Rymerson, Jessica Heutmaker, Jenny Rebecca Rice, Brooke Heutmaker and Matthew Heutmaker, many other grandchildren and great grandchildren, step-children, Sever (Judy) Rundhaug, Bruce (Wendy) Rundhaug, Wendy (Dennis) Vollrath and Brad (Kay) Rundhaug, many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Beverly Heutmaker, brothers, Bob and Art and his sister Dorothy.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Balsam Lake.  Richard’s family will greet visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M.  The family invites their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship at the church following the service.

Richard will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Wednesday, February 17, 2016.  Military Honors will be rendered at 1:00 P.M.   Please meet at Assembly Area 2 at 12:45 P.M.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
