Robert "Bob" P. Blomgren

Robert “Bob” P. Blomgren, 92, of Milltown, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Bob was born on April 14, 1930, in Frederic, Wisconsin the son of Winifred and Harry Blomgren.

Bob was a life-long resident of Milltown, Wisconsin.  He attended the Milltown schools and graduated in 1948.  He then attended the General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan.

Robert and Elverna were married on April 14, 1951.  Soon after their honeymoon, he was drafted into the United States Army where he served his country until 1953.  He served in Korea during the Korean War.

After his return home from serving in the Army, Robert and Elverna built their home in Milltown where they raised their four daughters.

He had various employment opportunities early in his working career until he settled in at Yellow River Supply Corporation, Turtle Lake, WI where he worked as a heavy equipment maintenance manager until his retirement.

Robert spent his holidays and time off camping, canoeing, and hunting.  He liked to travel and for several years he and Elverna spent winters in the south.

Bob leaves to celebrate his memory: his wife, Elverna, Milltown, WI; children: Jo Ann Blomgren, St. Paul, MN; Patrice Blomgren (Mark Bergen), Minneapolis, MN; Linda (Robert) Knutson, Radium Springs, NM; Jill Balanski, Claremore, OK, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, brother, Jack (Annette) Blomgren, Redwing, MN; sister, Margaret Lee, Port Townsend, WA; nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents Winifred and Harry Blomgren and his son-in-law, Howard Blanski.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, from 1 – 3 PM at the Milltown Community Center followed by Military Honors provided by the Milltown American Legion Post 254 and the Wisconsin State Military Honors Program.

He will be laid to rest at North Valley Cemetery.
