Roger S. Sapp, 88, of Milltown, Wisconsin passed away on Friday evening, March 16, 2018 at the United Pioneer Home in Luck, Wisconsin. Roger was born on January 9, 1930 in Cleveland, OH the son of Franz and Anna Sapp.
As a young man Roger began his Military career in the Ohio State Militia and then later served in the U.S. Army Reserves for 23 years attaining the rank of Lt. Colonel. During that time Roger earned a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering from Ohio State University and a Masters Degree in Business from Xavier University. After graduating Roger assisted in the ground -breaking computer age while working for several companies as an Electrical Engineer. Some of the companies Roger worked for are Lockheed – on the Jet Star Project, Fairchild Semiconductors, Control Data, and Pioneer Magnetics.
After retiring from his electrical engineering career, Roger was a beloved bus driver for Blake School.
He always shared his passion of electrical engineering with anyone he met including children, grandchildren, and anyone who appeared to show the slightest interest!
Roger was passionate and vocal about his relationship with Jesus Christ. His faith was the foundation of his life.
He was a 32 year resident of Milltown, WI where he resided with his wife of 41 years, Diane.
During their time there, Roger and Diane provided sanctuary for many injured, orphaned, and unwanted domestic and wild animals.
Roger was a very mischievous soul and always found humor in side-stepping the rules.
Roger leaves to celebrate his memory: his wife, Diane Sapp, Milltown, WI; children: Stephen Sapp, Marblehead, OH; Thomas (Mary) Sapp, Apple Valley, MN; Margaret Sapp, Minneapolis, MN; Michael (Gretchen) Sapp, Bloomington, MN and Barb (Kory) Arens, Dubai, U.A.E., many grandchildren and other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franz and Anna and his sister, Alice May Smith.
Memorial services will be held at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria, on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Angie Kutney from Milltown Lutheran Church will officiate the service. Roger’s family will greet visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 A.M. Roger will be laid to rest at a later date.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
