Sherrie L. (Smith) Smith-Toland

Sherrie L. Smith-Toland, 60, of Centuria, Wisconsin passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Regions Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Sherrie was born on November 16, 1957, in Hudson, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joyce (Hince) and James Smith. She graduated from Pepin High School in 1975 and went on to get her cosmetology license. She worked in Centuria at a beauty salon, and later at Alcan Manufacturing, until her father fell ill, after which she received her barber license to help him run his business, Jim’s Barber Shop. She eventually took over the shop in 1985 until she retired due to her deteriorating health in April 2014. Even in retirement, Sherrie was active in her community, and served on the Centuria Memory Days planning committee and acted as the church treasurer at Fristad Lutheran Church.

Sherrie leaves to celebrate her memory: mother, Joyce Smith, Centuria, WI; her husband, Roy Toland, Centuria, WI; children: Stephanie Toland (Daryl Rakotz), Turtle Lake, WI; Brittany Toland (Jeffrey Krohn), Amery, WI and James Toland, Amery, WI; grandchildren, Karter and Aleah Krohn, Amery, WI and Baby Rakotz on the way,  brothers, Steve (Jill) Smith, St. Croix Falls, WI; Ron Smith (Laurie Juleen), Centuria, WI; niece,  Meghan (Austin) Muchow, nephews, David Smith (Dani), Brian Smith, Sean Smith, Drew Smith and Greg Smith, great-niece, Brielle Smith and other family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father, James Smith.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Fristad Lutheran Church in Centuria, Wisconsin at 11:00 A.M.  Sherrie’s family will greet visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 A.M.  Following the service please join the family in the church fellowship hall for lunch and continued fellowship.
