Sylvia Ann (Bibeau) Beck

Sylvia Beck (Bibeau) 77, Balsam Lake, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2, 2019 in Frederic, Wisconsin.  Sylvia Bibeau was born on August 30, 1942 in Amery, Wisconsin the daughter of Alfred and Zilla (Orr) Bibeau.

Sylvia was a beautiful soul – an angel on earth, spreading love, kindness and compassion to everyone.  In her childhood and young adulthood she enjoyed her friends and family.  She nannied for Dr. Godfrey and his family and enjoyed care giving and nurturing children.  She went on to beautician’s school and moved to Minneapolis.

She met and married Jerald Beck in October of 1967 and they had two children, Michelle and Brian.  They moved to Cottage Grove, MN where she raised, loved and nurtured her family.  She enjoyed being a part of the church and community.  She was also a girl-scout troop leader.

She divorced Jerald in 1985 and moved back to Balsam Lake in 1987 to live and be by her family.  She was part of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church and worked at the Balsam Lake Motel, grocery store and Osceola Medical Center until retirement.  She was a wonderful grandma to Jackson and Melton.  She was a vital part of their lives, spending her vacation to be with Jackson at birth.  She lived with Melton for the first 5 years of his life loving and caring for him.

She had a beautiful smile and had a gentle calmness about her that made everyone she touched feel that too.  She enjoyed traveling, nature, being at the family lake place and all the family picnics.

She leaves to celebrate her memory: children, Michelle Beck and Brian Beck, grandchildren, Jackson and Melton, sisters, Nona Bader and Joann Knutson and many nieces, nephews, cousins and family and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Zilla Bibeau and brothers, Gordy and Johnny Bibeau.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church with a visitation one hour prior the service.  Please join the family for lunch and fellowship following the service in the church fellowship hall.  She will be laid to rest at a later date.
