Thomas C. Miller passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at the age of 78. Tom was born on July 14, 1943 to Earl and Mary (McKean) Miller of Wonder Lake, Illinois. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Tom grew up in Wonder Lake, Illinois and served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He married Ardis (May) Miller on August 12, 1967. Tom raised his family on the Fox River in Johnsburg, Illinois and became the publisher of the McHenry Plaindealer. In 1986, Tom purchased Ledger Publication, Inc. in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin and was the publisher of the County Ledger Press, Standard Press and Enterprise Press until 2020. He was an avid boater, with the love of classic wood boats and a collector of antique clocks.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Mary Miller, sister MaryLou Cope, brother Terry Miller, brother-in-laws Robert Cable, Richard Cope, Rob Weber and Fred Kramer.
He is survived by his wife, Ardis, children, Jessica (Chad) Knutson, Mac (Stefanie) Miller, and Leslie (Brady) Waggoner, sister Susan Weber, grandchildren, Nathan, Abigail, Thomas, Mary and William.
A celebration of life will be held at Indianhead Supper Club in Balsam Lake, Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
