Yvonne M. Flaherty

Yvonne Marie Flaherty, 78, of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Osceola Medical Center with her loving family at her side.  Yvonne was born on December 10, 1935 in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of Arthur and Ruth Francois.

Yvonne enjoyed dancing, word puzzles, her dogs; she loved daisies and happy hour with the gals at the apartment.  She loved to spend time with her family and especially her grandchildren.   She faced and conquered many challenges in her life with her bold and fighting spirit and through it all she did it her way!

Yvonne leaves to celebrate her memory: husband, Richard Flaherty, Balsam Lake, WI; sons, Peter (Ann) Metzdorf, Monson, MA; Michael (Sally )  Flaherty, Clear Lake, WI; Daniel (Kellie) Flaherty, Balsam Lake, WI; Jamey (Michelle) Flaherty, Balsam Lake, WI; 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Francois, mother, Ruth Nelson, step father, Tony Nelson, 1 ^st husband, Peter Metzdorf Sr., sons, Richard “Rocky” Flaherty and Gregory Metzdorf, sisters, Shirley Larkin and Penny Fish and her brother, Skip Francois.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 12:00 noon. at Faith Lutheran Church in Balsam Lake with Pastor Diane Norstad officiating.  Yvonne's family will greet visitors at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.  The family would like to invite their guests to join them for lunch and fellowship following the service in the church fellowship hall.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
