Ronald Lee Carlson

Ronald Lee Carlson, 78, of Centuria, passed away on Friday, January 08, 2016 at his home with his loving family at his side.  Ron was born on April 16, 1937 in Chicago, Ill the son of Gunnard and Evelyn (Granso) Carlson.

Ron was retired from the Polk County Highway Department where he worked for 26 years.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter spending much of his time on the lakes or in the woods.  He also served his country in the United States Navy from November 1955 – November 1957 on the USS Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. (DD-850) and in 1958 he married Carol Marie Johnson.

Ron leaves to celebrate his memory: children, Steve (Robbie) Carlson, Osceola, WI; Shirley (Clarion) Lane, Luck, WI; Ron (Brenda) Carlson Jr., Milltown, WI; Tammy (Ron) Beckwith, Centuria, WI; Theresa (Keith) Hinrichs, Menomonie, WI; grandchildren: Alec, Shannon, Heather, Matthew, Travis, Ron, Tony, Krystal, Ricky, Brittany, Cody, Tosha, Nathan, Nick, Nick, Alysse and Chris, 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gunnard and Evelyn Carlson, one brother, one sister and his granddaughter, Meagan Carlson in infancy.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 7:00 P.M. at the Kolstad Family Funeral Home in Centuria.  Ron’s family will greet guests at the funeral home beginning at 6:00 P.M.
